If Xtians weren't so hard...

Yes. If Xtians (and other faithful) weren't so inured and hardened about their views, this world might be a better place to live.

See. Those of faith seem to see fit to push their religion onto the rest of us...

Yes, I know; "Most" Xtians are liable to let things go and accept most people for who they are. Really? I think that "most" Xtians then are not REALLY Xtians. They may go to church and bible study and do their best to understand the word of their god. They celebrate the Xtian holidays and life goes on.

There is a larger and broader issue at hand that the average layperson is probably unaware of.

In the end I think they are simple sheep and not the movers and shakers of the vastly outspoken Xtian majority. The people who move behind the scenes shaking hands with our elected officials.

People like Robertson, Falwell and Hagee; among many others who have implemented an agenda to further McCarthyism.

Instead of Communists we have Muslims and any other ideology that does not fall in line with Xtian doctrine. All because this country was supposedly founded as an Xtian nation. Somehow moral decline is imminent. ALL HELL IS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE!!!

Really? At least this is what I hear from Robertson and the rest. Take John Hagee who believes that the 2nd coming is nigh...within our life-times!

You may live to see Jesus on this earth AGAIN!

Hence, we have machinations within John Hagee Ministries to influence U.S. foreign policy. CUFI; Christians United For Israel. Don't get me wrong. I'm not an anti-semite in the least. Yet here we have a pastor of a major congregation forming a group to lobby politicians in our capital in order to influence our foreign policy. Using millions of dollars he got from who-knows-where (being a pastor it would likely be from his church, right?), to further...NO...institute, or rather attempt to bring about policy aimed at MAKING biblical revelation come true.

Your thinking: "What the hell is he talking about? Looney Tunes!!"

Nope. I've heard this man state this same rhetoric.

What is going on here?!?!

It boggles my brain. This guy raises millions of dollars to influence our politicians, solely on the basis of influencing U.S. foreign policy. MILLIONS!!!

Why not use that money for grander things. Not that our foreign policy is not a grand endeavor (that's another debate), but why not lobby for poverty issues or trade issues that affect the working class of this country? Hmm?

Why set ones sites onto Israel? Why pump so much money into such an endevour?

My answer: Religion.

An ideological imperative based on doctrine (that is a lie) to bring about the 2nd coming of guy who died 2000 some-odd years ago!

Is that not amazing?
