This whole "debate" about religion grinds me.
"Oh, don't tread on my beliefs! It will tear down everything I've held dear and disrupt everything I have staked my life on..."
What ever! This applies to everybody. We constantly tip-toe around the real...THE REAL...issue at hand. We are all different. Even every single atheist, every single Christian. For some reason it seems that some folk try to drive way to fast to get to a destination that they have no freaking clue of where it actually is.
I am totally done with arguing against the existence of a god. As believers (whatever stance they take) should be done with arguing FOR the existence of whatever fairy tale they have been inculcated to believe in.
Personally, I have not been indoctrinated into any kind of "faith" (Thank you, mom). This gives me a unique perspective on the role of religion in our society. Those who follow a particular faith (and been indoctrinated as such) can't possibly appreciate this. Seriously.
Recently I've been frequenting Angels Departs' posts and the rebuttals and debates. Curiously, you wouldn't think that one would get so incensed. But I am. I see a lot of circular logic that frickin' goes nowhere.
Anyway, the gist of this post is that people ought to just recognize that we all have differing viewpoints and live and let live. Don't get me wrong, I think it's healthy to have a meaningful discussion. But, to side step the real issues in inane.
I don't know what else to say right now. Besides, my beagle is whining to go outside.
Thank you.
