Not a surprise

The armys attitude toward atheists:

And I think that most of the American public holds the same view. I hearken back to this quite often; it is no wonder atheists, non-believers, blasphemers and apostates (or otherwise non-Christians) feel marginalized and backed into a corner. Christians shouldn't feel a damn bit surprised about atheists getting "militant"; as is popular to describe the likes of Dawkins, Hitchens and Harris.
For a long time atheists were forced to live in a closet or bury their head in the sand. I think Christians, that have a problem with atheists speaking out, were more comfortable with those days. After all George Bush Sr stated, "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."
